The sisters of Lambda Chi Rho Sorority (1962) brought the sunshine to the afternoon, literally. They blessed their table and our hearts with a big wooden carving of the sun along with their beautiful smiles and festive table. There were balloons, pictures, and giveaways. You name it, they had it! We can't mention a Greek event without talking about those "Phi Men". The smooth brothers of Psi Sigma Phi Fraternity Inc. (1990) had a table fit for a king. Their table was as packed with plenty of fraternity paraphernalia and that's not all. They showed the quality of their brotherhood in numbers and in spirit blasting on the scene like hip hop in the 80's. The brothers were full of energy, fun, and laughter.
The "fine" men of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. (1914) were not to be overlooked. Amongst the sea of students, they came out to represent and showed the campus community why the "boys in blue" are considered to be the liveliest fraternity on the planet. The Beta men looked extremely handsome in their black dress shirts and gold neck ties. Beta Kappa Psi Black and Latino Fraternity Inc. (1992) was definitely "in the building". And let's not forget about those centaurs. They were roaming free like the "outlaws" they proclaim to be. One thing's for sure, the distinguished brothers of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Inc. (1963) are clearly "building a tradition, not resting upon one", celebrating the date of the founding of their beloved organization a day earlier.
But don't get it twisted, the ladies showed 'em who runs the show. Whoever said cowboys are the leaders of the west was sadly mistaken. The sisters of Omega Sigma Psi Sorority (1966) showed us how their "boots were made for walking", wowing the crowd with an amazing mid-west cowgirl line dance routine. The Enchanting Mermaids of Lambda Tau Omega Sorority Inc. (1988) spread their fins and showed us how they do it "under the sea". The Lovely Ladies of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Inc. (1975), let us know that they were "THE FIRST" but of course made sure they did it with class and sophistication showing their "Unity, Love, and Respect" and proved why they are those special ladies of the burgundy and gray.
Desiree Morgan, sophomore Journalism major, said "It was very informal. It definitely increased my interest in joining a Greek organization. Paris Brown, freshman Philosophy major said "I really enjoyed the music and all the excitement. It was a good experience."
The Greek Senate and the Office of Student Life and Leadership Development sure knows how to throw an event! They always give us something to look forward to and we keep on coming back. Who knew "Meetin' The Greeks" could be so much fun?
