UNITY WEEK'S STEP AND DANCE/STROLL EXHIBITION

Unity Week was packed with events to show off what Kean is all about, what better than to have a step, stroll, and dance show. The team unity that these activities require is the epitome of unity and everything Kean. In honor of Unity Week's, Step and Dance/ Stroll Exhibition, Fraternities, Sororities, Team Fusion, and Steppers of a Free Nation took to the stage to do what they do best. The Step and Dance/ Stroll Exhibition was sponsored by Student Organization Inc., University Activities Board, and The Class of 2008. More than 600 people that attended the Unity Week event had the pleasure of seeing celebrity host Egypt, of Power 105.1 work the crowd with Kean favorite, DJ Nix in the Mix.

Three categories of competition consisted of Male, Female, and Dance/ Stroll. The Prizes were, Male and Female 1st prize $1000, 2nd prize $500, and Dance/ Stroll 1st prize $500. Performances were judged based on Appearance, Creativity, Synchronicity, Originality, and Overall show.

The Sororities involved in the female stepping portion of the night were Lambda Tau Omega who, Mu Sigma Upsilon and Zeta Phi Beta. Fraternities included Beta Kappa Psi, Lambda Sigma Upsilon and Sigma Lambda Beta. Competing for the Dance Stroll portion of the show was Team Fusion and Steppers of a Free Nation.

The winners of the night were Sororities, 1st place, Lambda Tau Omega, and 2nd place, Mu Sigma Upsilon. Fraternities that took home the prize were in 1st place, Beta Kappa Psi, and 2nd place, Lambda Sigma Upsilon. Team Fusion took home the gold for the Dance/ Stroll portion of the show.

The positive feedback from the crowd proved the event a success. UAB President Kush Parikh shared that he would love to bring the show back to Kean, but next time it will be bigger and better than ever.
