Lambda Tau Omega Sorority, Incorporated (LTO) was founded in 1988 at Montclair by 16 women who wanted to build an organization based on "Excellence Through Unity Knowledge and Dedication". Two years later the Delta Quanyx Chapter of LTO was founded at Kean University. LTO sisters take pride in the fact that they are (and always will be) an independent sisterhood, which means they have no brother organization. The overall membership of LTO sisters reflects ethic, political, and religious diversity. Lambda Tau Omega is one of two multicultural sororities at Kean.

LTO's philanthropic focus is on children, in fact about three-fourths of the sisters work with children in one way or another. LTO participates in many child-oriented community service projects; currently the sorority is sponsoring a Sri Lankan child who was affected by the Tsunami. The sorority's other community service activities include fundraising for cerebral palsy and March of Dimes, as well as promoting AIDS awareness. Delta Quanyx Chapter has also volunteered at the Hillside Community Foodbank with sisters from other chapters as well.

LTO stresses unity throughout all of its chapters, including its chapters in Illinois and Florida. Delta sisters are not only involved in Greek Life at Kean, but they also participate in Greek-sponsored events at other New Jersey colleges and universities. LTO engages in joint programming with other local schools, such as the Dating 101 workshop, held in February at New Jersey City University. At Kean, LTO has collaborated with Psi Sigma Phi to host The Greek God and Goddess Pageant, and participated in Unity Jam with the fraternity Lambda Sigma Upsilon and their sisters Mu Sigma Upsilon.

Currently there are four active sisters of the Delta Quanyx Chapter, Erika Urdaneta, President, Tiffany Trotman, Vice President, Erika Bernabe, Treasurer, and Gina Turlington, Secretary. Tiffany is also a member of LTO's national step team. These four hardworking womyn also take part in various funded groups, Student Organization, and are among Kean's student workers in the University Center and the Center for Academic Success.
