Engineering sophomore Michael Sheahan - whom friends remember as intelligent and understanding - was killed in a car crash on Monday night.

Fiocco records sealed
Police records concerning the death of John Fiocco Jr. in 2006 have been sealed by the New Jersey Superior Court. The decision came after the investigative records were requested by the Fiocco family. Linda R. Feinberg, New Jersey Superior Court Judge, wrote in her public opinion that although evidence has not been discovered to suggest that Fiocco's death was a homicide,"(the Division of State Police) has not ruled out homicide, and a criminal investigation is ongoing.

The Class of 2012 was officially welcomed to the College following Monday's convocation ceremony.
The incoming freshman class was embraced by College President R. Barbara Gitenstein, along with faculty, alumni and current students.
A "necessity of civil discourse" and an understanding of "different points of view" were stressed by Gitenstein.

Drexel University was ranked 89th "Best National University" by U.S. News' "America's Best Colleges, 2009 Edition," released Aug. 22, moving the University up 19 spots from its 108th ranking last year. "I was so delighted because I thought this distinction came three years too late," Drexel University President Constantine Papadakis said.
