The Lubavitch House has been a center for Jewish life at the University since 1980. However, recent picketing efforts by Philadelphia union workers have disrupted the House's $2.8 million expansion project.
For the past two weeks, picketers from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 98, have protested the use of non-union workers on the project, disrupting house activities, as well as residential life.

It is surprising to know that in the 21st century women are still fighting for equal rights, but it is more surprising to know that from the look of things an end to the injustice is still a long way off. Over the last century, women have rallied to fight for a number of changes including the right of women to vote, the right to a fair hearing in rape cases, and the right to elect a woman to political office.

UNIVERSITY | The New York State Education Department's Board of Regents gave the NYU-Polytechnic merger its approval on June 24 at the board's meeting - the final approval the deal needed to go forth. They're working to insure that the team stays stronger for longer and, having added Univeristy of Massachusetts transfer Max Groebe according to The Cornell Basketball Blog, the staff just took a big leap in the right direction.
